Astra Centre is reliant on donations, bequests and sponsorships.

Donations may also be made in lieu of a gift, in the name of someone who will be celebrating a life milestone such as a birthday, anniversary, bar/batmitzvah, engagement, marriage, birth of a baby, graduation or in memory of a departed loved one. This is a wonderful way to acknowledge or to mark a special occasion while supporting a very worthwhile cause.

Donations can also be made when celebrating Jewish festivals such as Pesach and Rosh Hashana, as well as special occasions such as Mother’s Day or in appreciation of someone’s kindness/hospitality. A beautiful card will be sent to notify the person of your donation (the amount is not disclosed).

Once payment has been made, please email details of your donation to [email protected]. This should include your name, surname, cell number, who the greeting is going to and the occasion. We will then send your greeting.

Donations enable the Centre to continue providing an essential quality service to those with special needs (intellectually disabled and/or mental illness). The service includes sheltered employment in a protective environment, focusing on developing and honouring human potential, learning new skills and providing social interaction, dignity and enhanced self-esteem.

All donations are tax deductible in accordance with section 18A of the Income Tax Act.
